Serenity Lost
by Jessica Hall

Blinding snow envelops the ground
I cry and groan as my head pounds
Winter Wonderland is just a fleeting dream
As the throbbing inside makes me scream

Walls dance and fireworks explode before my eyes
The pressure in my head will surely be my demise
My stomach rolls and lurches inside of me
You'd never understand the intensity of pain you can't see

Whispers resonate and pierce my ears
As seconds begin to feel like years
Pain this strong is unjustly obscene
I await the end when it's all serene
