Cocoon of Pain
by Brandy R. Taylor

Not a day goes by,
that pain does not ravage my body.
I pull into a tight cocoon,
trying to get away from the pain.
Inside the cocoon of pain,
is a butterfly.
A butterfly with no pain.
To be able to soar through
the sky,
with no pain.
Would be a delight.
To be able to smell
the fresh morning air
and smile
without pain.
A cocoon of pain,
keeps me on the branch,
waiting for my chance to slowly,
open my wings
and fly away.
